Job Summary

Flex intends to spin off its Cloud and Power Infrastructure segment into a new independent publicly traded company which were calling SpinCo until the name is unveiled. The spin is planned for Q1 2027. If the intended spin occurs this role will support SpinCo which will focus on critical digital infrastructure delivering end-to-end power and thermal management solutions for AI data centers and other mission-critical applications.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth were looking to add a new Mechanical Supervisor based out of Hemel Hempstead centre but most days will be on sites.

Summary:

Reporting to the local Site Service Manager this is a UK-based role with significant international travel including extended assignments across Europe.

What a typical day looks like:

• Overseeing and supervising all maintenance and installation works including equipment dispatched to site
• Supervising and coordinating employees and contractors on site
• Interconnecting LV switchgear
• Monitoring project progress and providing status reports
• Completing certificates and documentation for client handover and testing
• Liaising with clients and stakeholders as required
• Ensuring works are delivered efficiently while maintaining quality safety and environmental standards
• Implementing and promoting effective risk management practices
• Identifying assessing and controlling health and safety hazards
• Leading QHSE compliance and ensuring awareness across all site activities
• Conducting site risk assessments and maintaining accurate records
• Delivering toolbox talks and task briefings
• Ensuring method statements are communicated understood and followed
• Verifying workforce competence and appropriate training for tasks
• Ensuring Permit to Work systems are correctly applied
• Monitoring site activities and intervening promptly to address issues or unsafe practices
• Ensuring proper use and maintenance of PPE tools and equipment including safe work at height
• Promoting site safety welfare fire prevention and reporting incidents/near misses to the Project Manager

The experience & qualification were looking to add to our team:

• A current SSSTS & UKATA Asbestos Awareness Certificate
• A valid Manual Handling Awareness Certificate
• A current and relevant ESC Card
• Experience in Mechanical installation of Switchgear and in a supervisor role.
• Self-motivated enthusiastic and conscientious with a high standard of attention to detail.
• Must be able to work accurately to deadlines in a busy and pressurised environment and demonstrate flexibility.
• Full UK driving license
• Eligibility to work in the UK.
