Are you a passionate and resilient English teacher who believes every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEMH English Teacher to join our supportive school from September. This is an exciting opportunity to teach small classes of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment where positive relationships are at the heart of learning.

The Role

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons that inspire confidence and achievement.
  • Teach small groups of students, enabling personalised learning and meaningful progress.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support both their academic and emotional development.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of learning needs and barriers.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral staff and families to provide a holistic approach to education.
  • Monitor progress and celebrate every success, helping students develop a love of learning.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Has experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.
  • Understands the challenges faced by young people with SEMH needs, or is committed to developing expertise in this area.
  • Is patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Has high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement.
  • Is creative, flexible and committed to delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching.
  • Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

We Offer:

  • Small class sizes with excellent staff-to-student ratios.
  • A supportive and collaborative team committed to staff wellbeing.
  • Ongoing professional development and specialist SEMH training.
  • Opportunities to make a genuine and lasting difference to young people's lives.
  • A rewarding role where relationships, progress and personal growth are valued as highly as academic success.

If you are an inspiring English teacher who is passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential, we would love to hear from you.

Apply now to join our team this September and help transform the lives of young people through outstanding teaching and care.
