Job description

Account Manager, Events – Full time – Glasgow HQ

At itison, we believe life is about the experience. We match our 1.7 million members with the best local experiences, create our own world-class events and donate thousands of experiences to local charities.

We’re the market leader at what we do, and we’re proud to be a fast-paced, ambitious, independent Scottish business with a brilliant culture, a strong sense of purpose and a team full of smart, driven people who care about doing great work.

We’re looking for a proven and ambitious Account Manager, specialising in ticketed events, to join our City Team and help us grow our business sustainably. This is a hands-on commercial role, ideal for someone who can build strong relationships across the events industry, spot standout opportunities, negotiate brilliant ticket promotions and help our host businesses reach our engaged audience.

The role would suit someone who is well connected in the events industry, with a strong network of promoters, venues, producers, festivals, theatres, exhibitions and experience-led businesses they can tap into.

What you'll be doing

Our City Team is at the forefront of growth for itison, sourcing and negotiating an incredible range of local experiences; from hotel breaks and Michelin-starred dining to standout events, festivals, theatre, exhibitions and shows.

You’ll be focused on managing and growing existing event accounts, while identifying, approaching and negotiating new ticket promotions across multiple categories of events. You’ll use research, industry knowledge and your network to uncover the best opportunities across our key cities, building a strong pipeline of events our members will love.

As Account Manager, Events, you’ll confidently negotiate ticket deals with businesses and work closely with our Mission Control team (host/account services) to make sure ticket redemption is seamless for customers and operators. You’ll be commercially sharp, organised and proactive - able to balance relationship management, new business development and the detail needed to make every feature run smoothly.

To excel at this role, you’ll need to be smart, charming, ambitious, tenacious, diligent, resilient and organised. You’ll be motivated by targets, used to working at pace, and able to think strategically while still being hands-on and proactive.

You should have experience in account management, B2B sales or strong transferable experience from the events or ticketing industry. A strong network of connections within this sector would also be beneficial.

The role will be based in our Glasgow city centre office, with some time out and about visiting your accounts where required.

Having a driving license and your own transport is helpful, but not mandatory to the role.

What’s the role?

  • Building on established relationships and creating new opportunities for existing accounts
  • Growing and developing your pipeline by building amazing relationships with key people
  • Identifying, approaching and negotiating ticket promotions across events, festivals, theatre, exhibitions and shows
  • Working with senior teams in local and national brands to develop long-term strategies based on their objectives
  • Using research and your own events knowledge to identify the best opportunities for itison
  • Working closely with Host Services to support smooth ticket redemption for partners and customers
  • Working closely with senior leadership to identify opportunities, solve challenges and support sustainable growth
  • Maximising your time by combining scheduled meetings with phone prospecting
  • Target based - you will have targets to work to across various metrics

  • An emotionally intelligent people person; brilliant at building relationships at all levels
  • Diligent and organised; able to follow processes and manage time effectively
  • Well connected within the events sector, with strong industry relationships
  • Insider knowledge and experience of the events industry and an understanding of industry language and key considerations, including margins, capacity, ticketing, allocation and redemption

The salary and benefits package:

  • Salary £29k -£35k depending on experience (OTE £35k - 42k)
