Job description
Position: Science Teacher Location: Brighton Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Science Teacher Role in an Independent School An established Independent School in Brighton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join its successful Science department from September. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a school that combines academic excellence with a strong commitment to developing well-rounded, curious, and confident young people. About the Role The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and/or Physics. Students follow a broad and ambitious curriculum that develops scientific knowledge, practical skills, and analytical thinking. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science qualifications while inspiring them to understand the relevance of science in the wider world and supporting progression into STEM-related pathways. You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through science clubs, practical workshops, competitions, educational visits, and enrichment activities that encourage students to explore science beyond the classroom. Key Responsibilities Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations Develop students’ scientific enquiry, analytical, and problem-solving skills Plan and supervise practical investigations safely and effectively Assess progress and provide high-quality feedback Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development Support STEM enrichment activities and science initiatives The School Environment This Independent School in Brighton is recognised for its strong academic reputation, supportive community, and commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.
