Job description
Graduate Design & Technology Scheme (Resistant Materials) Full time, Long term September start Teacher training pathway Are you a Design & Technology graduate looking to launch a career in education? This is a rare opportunity to step into a full-time classroom role at a thriving secondary school, with a genuine pathway into a fully funded teacher training programme for the right candidate. About the role Fortis Academy, part of the Shaw Education Trust, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join our team on a long-term, full-time basis. You will supervise classes across the school when teachers are absent, with a particular focus on supporting the Design & Technology department. You will work closely with subject staff to deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a productive learning environment, and act as a positive role model for our students. What you’ll be doing * Supervising classes across the school in the absence of the class teacher * Supporting and delivering pre-planned lessons, particularly within Design & Technology * Maintaining a calm, focused, and positive classroom environment * Building strong relationships with students and staff * Contributing to the wider life of the school community Who we’re looking for * A graduate in Design & Technology or a closely related discipline * A passion for working with young people and supporting their learning * Confidence, resilience, and excellent communication skills * A team player who is adaptable and proactive * Commitment to the values and ethos of Fortis Academy Teacher training pathway Fortis Academy and the Shaw Education Trust are committed to growing the next generation of outstanding teachers.
