Job description

Experienced Fitter (Gas Suppression Systems)

Hours: 50 per week

Location: Slough

Salary Range: Competitive, based on experience

Contract type: Permanent

Your next role

FireCheck Contracts is looking for an experienced Gas Suppression Fitter to join our specialist installation team. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality fire suppression systems that protect critical environments such as data centres, telecoms facilities, server rooms and commercial buildings.

This is a hands-on, technical role where your expertise really matters. You'll work on varied installation projects, interpret engineering drawings, and ensure every system is installed safely, accurately and to industry standards. If you're looking for a role where your skillset is valued and your work makes a tangible impact, this is it.

What you will be doing

You'll be responsible for the mechanical installation and commissioning of fixed gaseous fire suppression systems across multiple sites. A typical week will include:

  • Installing gas suppression systems in line with project specifications and engineering drawings
  • Carrying out pipework, cylinder positioning and nozzle installation
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and installation plans
  • Conducting pressure testing and completing installation documentation
  • Ensuring compliance with fire industry regulations and health & safety legislation
  • Liaising professionally with clients, site managers and project teams
  • Maintaining tools, equipment and vehicles to a safe, serviceable standard
  • Some projects may require occasional overnight stays depending on site location and project timelines.

Who we are looking for

We're looking for a skilled, reliable and proactive engineer with solid experience in gas suppression installation. You'll be confident working from technical drawings, comfortable on busy sites, and committed to delivering high-quality work.

Essential qualities:

  • Previous gas suppression installation experience across multiple manufacturers systems
  • Strong communication and teamwork
  • A proactive, solutionsfocused attitude
  • Full UK driving licence

If you're an experienced fitter looking for stability, progression and a team that values craftsmanship and consistency, FireCheck Contracts would love to hear from you.
