Position: English Teacher Location: Dudley Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 English Teacher Role in a Catholic Secondary School A highly regarded Catholic Secondary School in Dudley is seeking to appoint an inspiring and dedicated English Teacher to join its successful English department from September. About the Role The successful candidate will teach English across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and intellectually stimulating lessons that develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills. Students study a diverse curriculum including Shakespeare, classic and contemporary literature, poetry, drama, creative writing, and language analysis. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level English Literature and English Language examinations while encouraging independent thought, confident communication, and academic excellence. You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through literacy initiatives, book clubs, theatre visits, debating competitions, creative writing workshops, and enrichment activities that foster a genuine enthusiasm for English. Key Responsibilities Teach English across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver engaging, challenging, and well-structured lessons Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level English Literature and Language examinations Develop students' analytical, communication, and creative writing skills Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development Support literacy initiatives and extracurricular enrichment activities Foster curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of English The School Environment This Catholic Secondary School is recognised for its inclusive ethos, strong community spirit, and commitment to academic achievement and personal development.
