Job description

Position: Maths Teacher Location: Luton Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Maths Teacher Role in a Community Secondary School A welcoming and ambitious Community Secondary School in Luton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Maths Teacher to join its successful Mathematics department from September. About the Role The successful candidate will teach Mathematics across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging and challenging lessons that develop students’ confidence, problem-solving abilities, and mathematical understanding. Students follow a broad and ambitious curriculum covering number, algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, and higher-level mathematical reasoning. You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations while encouraging them to think critically, apply their knowledge, and develop resilience when tackling complex problems. You will also contribute to the wider life of the department through maths clubs, intervention programmes, competitions, enrichment activities, and initiatives designed to inspire students beyond the classroom. Key Responsibilities Teach Mathematics across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver engaging, well-planned, and differentiated lessons Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Mathematics examinations Develop students’ reasoning, problem-solving, and analytical skills Monitor progress and provide high-quality feedback Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development Support maths intervention and enrichment programmes Encourage confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards mathematics The School Environment This Community Secondary School in Luton is committed to creating an inclusive and ambitious learning environment where students are encouraged to succeed academically and personally.
