Job description

Role – Project Managers - Assistant to Senior Grade

Location – London & Oxford Offices

Team – HEST (Health, Education, Science & Technology)

CPC – Big enough to deliver, small enough to care

Here at CPC Project Services, we are an award-winning, independent Project Management and Cost Consultancy with a proud 36-year track record of delivering excellence across infrastructure, property, and transformational change projects.

In 2024, we became an employee-owned business, a defining moment that truly sets us apart. This isn't just a structural change; it's a commitment to our people. It provides long-term stability, protects our independence in a market full of acquisitions, and ensures that everyone at CPC shares in the success they help create. The result is a culture built on ownership, pride, and genuine motivation.

Careers at CPC are built to last. We're passionate about developing our people and promoting from within, with countless examples of progression across the business.

With a clear vision to become a £100m turnover business by 2033, this is an exciting time to join a consultancy that is growing fast—but growing the right way.

The Opportunity – Why Join Our HEST Team?

We're expanding our HEST team (Health, Education, Science & Technology) across London and Oxford, and are looking for Project Managers from Assistant through to Senior to join us at a pivotal time.

This is a high-performing, close-knit team with a strong culture of collaboration, support, and long-term career development. Many team members have been with CPC for over a decade, something that speaks volumes about the environment and opportunities here.

What makes this opportunity stand out:

  • Access to flagship, career-defining projects across the health, education, science and technology sectors
  • A healthy pipeline of secured work, creating immediate opportunities to step into key projects and make an impact
  • Clear progression routes in a growing team, from Assistant PM through to Senior PM and beyond
  • Direct client exposure and responsibility, not lost in a large corporate structure
  • A genuinely supportive, non-hierarchical culture

A flavour of the projects we work on:

  • Science and research facilities, including advanced laboratories and innovation centres
  • Major higher and further education developments, including large-scale university and school schemes
  • Life sciences facilities, including large-scale laboratory developments linked to research and innovation
  • Healthcare projects, including new hospital developments and NHS estate refurbishments
  • Heritage and complex refurbishment projects across historic environments
  • Government-backed science and technology programmes across leading UK campuses

This breadth means you won't be pigeonholed, you'll develop experience across multiple sectors while building genuine depth in HEST delivery.

Role Details

In this role, you'll take ownership of projects and workstreams appropriate to your level of experience, ranging from smaller technical schemes to major capital projects worth £5m to £60m+, supporting or leading them from inception through to completion.

You'll be trusted to:

  • Support or lead projects and client relationships, depending on your level
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams
  • Help drive delivery on complex, high-value schemes
  • Play a key role in shaping project outcomes

This is an opportunity to step into a visible, impactful role where your contribution genuinely matters, whatever stage of your career you're at.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience operating at Assistant PM, PM, or Senior PM level within a consultancy or client-side environment
  • A proven ability to support or lead projects end-to-end
  • Experience across relevant/transferrable sectors
  • Ideally, experience working with both NEC and JCT forms of contract
  • Strong stakeholder and client management skills
  • Degree qualified (Project Management or a construction-related discipline)
  • Working towards (or interested in achieving) Chartership

What's in it for you

  • Competitive salary plus performance-related bonus
  • Private healthcare (including dental and optical cover) for you and your family
  • Travel insurance, including winter sports cover
  • Private pension scheme
  • Full support with professional memberships and ongoing development
  • Supportive leadership
  • Strong pipeline of work
  • Opportunity to grow with the business

Ready to Join Us?

If you're looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a collaborative, employee-owned consultancy and play a key role in delivering exciting projects across the health, education, science and technology sectors, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply now with your CV and let's start the conversation.
