Feel the difference We work from two state‑of‑the‑art hospitals (Storrington and Chichester) alongside our sister businesses, Arun Veterinary Group and South Downs Veterinary Referrals. Our day service offers services from our four branch clinics (Worthing, Ashington, Pulborough and Westergate) and we work collaboratively to deliver exceptional, personalised care to our patients 24/7. The interior design in our clinics provides a warm, comforting, home‑from‑home feeling. It’s hard to put into words, but you’ll feel the difference as soon as you walk through the door. You’ll be involved in first‑opinion and emergency critical care, including medical and surgical cases, advanced diagnostic imaging and rehabilitation. This gives you the opportunity to grow and master your areas of special interest. We understand that our team is what makes South Downs Emergency Vets great. Whether your interest is in clinical specialism, gaining a certificate, building leadership skills, or something else entirely, we’re committed to nurturing your talents. About you You’ll be an experienced ECC Veterinary Surgeon (RCVS), with a valid driving licence. You’ll have an interest and previous experience in emergency and critical care. Most importantly, you’ll share and demonstrate our values. These are humility, respect, empathy, work ethic, honesty, communication, and teamwork. Benefits * Generously funded CPD (Certificate funding available) * Standard pension benefit * 40% staff discount for own pets * Enhanced parental leave (6 months paid at 90%) * Enhanced sickness benefit (2 weeks at 100%) * Generous holiday incorporated into annualised hours (7 weeks, including bank holidays) * Occupational health resources, including mental health support Rota Rota pattern 7‑on, 14‑off = average 33.1hrs per week (annualised hours contract). Night shifts are usually 13 hours long. This role is based at our busy hospital in Chichester or Storrington. There is accommodation available.
