Job description
Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently recruiting SEMH Teaching Support Staff to work across a range of specialist schools and alternative provisions throughout Chorley and Skelmersdale. This is a rewarding opportunity for individuals who are committed to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEMH needs. * Build positive relationships and act as a positive role model. * Support pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management. * Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons and activities. * Help create a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment. * Support students both inside and outside of the classroom. Desired qualifications and experience * Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, challenging behaviour or additional needs. * A background in education, care, youth work, coaching, residential support, mental health support or similar sectors. * Strong communication and relationship-building skills. * A calm, patient and resilient approach. * A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
