Job description
About The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cancer Nurse with a training and education background to work within the Cancer Services Practice Development Nurse team. This team drives excellence in training and education for existing staff, new starters and educates nurses to become Oncology nurses through our Oncology Training Academy Programme.

In this role, you will take a lead in delivering high-quality training and education, as well as sourcing relevant development opportunities for our nursing teams. A key focus is to ensure the ongoing competence of our Oncology Nursing workforce. You will support the nursing workforce during patient visits and within our Healthcare Centre settings, fostering excellence and standardisation in patient care and professional practice.

In addition to supporting the oncology nursing workforce with training and education, you will be responsible for staying informed about the latest initiatives and advancements in Oncology. You will share these insights with the nursing team, ensuring they remain current and aligned with the most recent developments in the world of Oncology.

Key duties will include:
  • Taking accountability for the delivery of high-quality oncology training and education across nursing services, ensuring careful assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care needs.
  • Overseeing and monitoring the recording and storage of training documents to ensure accurate data reporting of training status across nursing services.
  • Collaborating with nursing management to complete audits, review training, and participate in tender processes.
  • Sourcing and facilitating external training and accreditation in line with budget requirements.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to ensure care services are aligned with business growth.
  • Supporting in-field shadowing and signing off Homecare Nurses in their required competencies.

Why Lloyds Clinical?

  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Full support from our employee assistance program, including access to wellbeing services, exercise videos, podcasts, and more
  • NMC fees paid after one year's service
  • Annual subscription to the RCNi CPD platform

Other must-haves include:
  • A valid NMC PIN
  • Oncology experience and a SACT passport
  • A full UK driving license (as travel nationwide is required)
