Job description
About the department
Our Women’s & Men’s Centre provides specialist, patient centred care in a discreet, supportive, and professional environment. The service supports patients across a range of treatments and procedures, ensuring they receive the highest standards of clinical care throughout their journey.

About the role
As a Registered Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high quality, patient centred nursing care within the Women’s & Men’s Centre. You will support patients throughout their treatment journey, ensuring they feel informed, reassured, and cared for while receiving safe and effective clinical care.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, maintaining high clinical standards, and contributing to positive patient outcomes. You will provide clinical support during consultations, investigations, and procedures, ensuring care is delivered in line with professional, regulatory, and organisational standards.

The role requires excellent communication skills, strong clinical judgement, and the ability to build trusting relationships with patients, including those who may be anxious or vulnerable. You will also contribute to service quality, clinical governance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the department.

This role is ideal for a motivated and compassionate nurse who enjoys working in a specialist clinical setting and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within the Women’s & Men’s Centre.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care in line with NMC standards and organisational policies.
  • Support patients during consultations, investigations, treatments, and minor procedures.
  • Monitor patient wellbeing, recognising and escalating clinical concerns appropriately.
  • Provide information, education, and emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation and records.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants and multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure effective care delivery.
  • Adhere to infection prevention, safeguarding, medicines management, and information governance standards.
  • Participate in audit, quality improvement, and clinical governance activities.
  • Maintain professional competence through ongoing learning, training, and development.

About you
You are a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding patient care. You combine excellent clinical skills with a professional, patient-focused approach, ensuring every individual feels supported, respected, and cared for throughout their treatment journey.

You will have previous experience within a Gynaecology and/or Urology setting and be willing to develop your skills across all specialties within the Women’s & Men’s Centre, including Enhanced Breast Screening. You are competent in essential clinical procedures including cannulation, phlebotomy, and intramuscular/subcutaneous injections, and consistently deliver care in line with best practice standards.

You communicate confidently and sensitively with patients, colleagues, and clinicians, adapting your approach to meet individual needs. With strong interpersonal skills and a calm, reassuring manner, you are able to build positive relationships and support patients who may feel anxious or vulnerable.

Comfortable using electronic patient record systems and other digital platforms, you understand the importance of accurate documentation, confidentiality, and information governance. You are organised, proactive, and able to work effectively in a busy clinical environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy, safety, and professionalism.

A collaborative team player, you are committed to continuous learning, clinical excellence, and promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in healthcare. You value working within a multidisciplinary team and are passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience.
