Job description

DescriptionEmployerLocation

Full-time | One-year fixed-term contract (with the potential to become permanent)

Help us shape the next stage of our inclusive provision.

We are looking to appoint an excellent full-time teacher who is passionate about ensuring every child thrives. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented classroom practitioner who has an interest in inclusion, adaptive teaching and supporting children with additional needs. Alongside a full-time teaching commitment, the successful candidate will work with senior leaders to help develop and strengthen our inclusive provision across the school. As this is a new and evolving role, we are deliberately looking for the right person rather than a specific set of experiences. The successful candidate's responsibilities will develop over time and will be shaped around their strengths, interests and the needs of the school.

About the role

This is a full-time teaching post. The successful candidate may initially lead their own class or may take responsibility for a class currently taught by another member of staff, enabling them to develop other aspects of our provision. The exact teaching commitment will be determined following appointment and dependent on candidate.

Alongside your teaching role, you will have opportunities to:

  • support the development of inclusive practice across the school
  • work with colleagues to identify and remove barriers to learning
  • help develop effective intervention and support for pupils who require additional provision
  • contribute to high-quality adaptive teaching and classroom practice
  • work alongside leaders, the SENCo and colleagues to continually improve outcomes for vulnerable learners
  • build positive relationships with children and families to promote engagement and success.

We are looking for someone who:

  • holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • is an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations and a commitment to ensuring every child achieves their potential.
  • creates stimulating, inclusive learning environments where all pupils feel valued, supported and able to thrive.
  • has a secure understanding of effective teaching, learning and assessment, using assessment to inform planning and accelerate progress.
  • is passionate about inclusion and enjoys finding creative, practical solutions to overcome barriers to learning.
  • has experience of, or a genuine interest in, supporting children with additional needs and developing inclusive practice.
  • is reflective, resilient and committed to continual professional development.
  • communicates effectively and builds positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, parents and external professionals.
  • enjoys working collaboratively and is keen to contribute to whole-school improvement beyond their own classroom.
  • is willing to play an active role in the wider life of the school.

Experience of SEND, intervention programmes or nurture approaches would be welcomed but is not essential. We are equally interested in hearing from exceptional teachers who are passionate about inclusion and are keen to develop their knowledge and expertise in this area.

We can offer the successful candidate

  • a school with beautiful grounds situated within a wonderful village setting
  • a school where staff enjoy work as part of a team, supporting each other in a variety of ways
  • a curriculum which is creative and topic-based in approach
  • a spacious, well decorated and well-resourced classroom
  • excellent indoor learning environments with a Science Lab, Art Suite, DT Kitchen and Music Suite
  • exciting outdoor learning environments with a variety of wildlife areas, a Nurture Farm, a Writing Shed, a pond and a huge expanse of field for both learning and playing
  • dedicated 10% release time with year group colleague with access to a well-resourced PPA room
  • a commitment to professional development
  • a range of employee benefits including discounts with wellness partners and a cycle to work scheme
  • an employee assistance program.

Applicants are warmly welcomed to come and visit us for a school tour. For more information (or to book a tour) please contact the school office.

Salary: dependent on experience (MPS)

Start date: As soon as possible

Applications will be reviewed on receipt and we reserve the right to interview and appoint a suitable candidate before the closing date. We therefore encourage interested applicants to apply as soon as possible.

Safeguarding Statement

Pirbright Village Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We particularly welcome applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, transgender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. All successful applicants will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

Diversity and Inclusion Statement

We want to attract the broadest range of talented people to be part of Learning Partners Academy Trust. We aspire to have a diverse and inclusive workforce and particularly welcome suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to join our trust.
