Location Derby, England | Sector Automotive | Salary £36,000.00 to £42,500.00 per annum Our client, a well-established main dealership in Derby, is seeking an experienced MOT Tester / Prep Technician to join their busy workshop. This is an outstanding opportunity for skilled professionals to work within a manufacturer-backed environment that offers extensive training, clear career progression, and competitive earning potential. The successful MOT Tester / Prep Technician will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and service quality. Benefits * OTE up to £42,500 * Manufacturer-led training and ongoing career development programmes * 30 days annual leave including bank holidays, increasing with length of service * Life assurance and a company pension scheme * Discounted vehicle servicing and aftersales for employees and their families * Employee recognition and reward schemes * Team-based environment with long-term career prospects * Stable, supportive dealership environment Duties * Conduct Class 4 MOT tests in strict accordance with DVSA regulations, ensuring compliance and safety standards * Carry out vehicle preparation work for retail and customer vehicles, including servicing and light mechanical repairs * Perform inspections, identify faults, and recommend necessary repairs * Complete all job cards and workshop documentation accurately and efficiently * Collaborate with the workshop team to optimise workflow and ensure customer satisfaction * Identify additional repair requirements and communicate effectively with clients and team members * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturer standards and safety procedures Requirements * Valid Class 4 MOT Tester licence * Level 3 NVQ, IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair * Proven experience working within a dealership or professional workshop environmentStrong servicing and mechanical repair skills * Attention to detail and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship * Full UK Driving Licence (maximum 6 points) * Excellent organisational skills and team collaboration abilities If you are an experienced MOT Tester / Prep Technician looking to join a reputable dealership offering excellent benefits and career stability, this opportunity is not to be missed.
