Make a Difference That Truly Matters – Children’s Support Workers

Paragon Social Care

More Than a Job. An Opportunity to Change Young Lives.

At Paragon Social Care, we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, valued and supported. We work with children and young people in local authority care, helping them navigate challenging circumstances, build resilience and move towards a brighter future.

We are looking for compassionate, reliable and emotionally resilient Children’s Support Workers who want to make a genuine difference. If you are passionate about helping young people overcome challenges and reach their potential, this could be the opportunity for you.

The Role

No two days are the same. Whether you are helping a young person through a difficult moment, encouraging them to attend education or supporting them to develop independence, your contribution can have a lasting impact.

You will provide trauma-informed care across residential settings and community-based support packages, working alongside a professional team dedicated to improving young people's lives.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building positive, trusting relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Providing consistent support during challenging situations.
  • Supporting daily routines, education, independence and life skills.
  • Encouraging positive activities, hobbies and healthy routines.
  • Supporting appointments and community activities, including transport where required.
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to safeguarding and care planning.

Who We Are Looking For

We value attitude, compassion and reliability just as much as experience.

  • A calm, patient and emotionally mature approach.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and supporting young people.
  • Previous experience with children or young people is desirable, including voluntary experience.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS check.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Children’s Residential Care is desirable but not essential.

Flexible Working with Clear Expectations

We offer flexible, shift-based opportunities for people who want to balance work flexibility with a meaningful career supporting young people.

Due to the nature of our services, we require a minimum availability of 3 shifts per week to help maintain continuity of care.

Please note that this is a flexible, shift-based role and shifts are not guaranteed. Providing your availability allows us to consider you for suitable opportunities, but actual bookings depend on service requirements, the needs of the young people and available shifts.

We are looking for individuals who can offer consistent availability, respond positively to opportunities and understand the importance of reliability in children's care.

What We Offer

  • £17.50–£24.00 per hour PAYE rate (including holiday pay).
  • £20.00–£28.00 per hour Umbrella rate.
  • Flexible working patterns.
  • Ongoing specialist training and development.
  • Career progression opportunities.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Referral bonus scheme.
  • Support from a professional, values-led management team.

Join Us in Making a Difference

Sometimes, a little patience, consistency and understanding can change the way a young person sees themselves and their future.

If you want rewarding work where your compassion and commitment can make a real difference, we would love to hear from you.

Safeguarding Statement

This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. All shortlisted candidates will be required to disclose convictions or cautions that are not protected under current filtering legislation.

Paragon Social Care is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All offers of employment are subject to satisfactory safer recruitment checks, including an Enhanced DBS check.
