Division / Function: Strategy & Operations, Early Development, Research & External Innovation
Location: Paris (FR) or London (UK)

Summary & Purpose of the Position
The Early Development department aims to build a sustainable, high-value portfolio. As part of the Strategy & Operations team, the Manager, Strategy & Operations – ED Sub Team Planner (EDSTP) contributes to this objective by supporting the coordination of operations of Early Development activities. The Strategy and Operations team’s mission is to optimize the functioning of this department and to continue its transformation, notably by seeking efficiency gains in processes and organization, and ultimately by monitoring and steering the early-stage portfolio.

The ED Sub Team Planner (EDSTP) plays a key role in supporting Early Development Sub Team by ensuring that activities are translated into structured, integrated plans that enable disciplined execution, cross-functional coordination, and end-to-end delivery of development activities. A core objective of the role is to enable teams to focus on scientific delivery by providing strong operational support.

Fully embedded in the Asset-Centric Model (ACM), the EDSTP acts as a strategic planning partner and operational integrator, supporting the ED SubTeam Lead in structuring and driving development activities as integrated project plans while ensuring alignment with the overall asset strategy.

The role is responsible for maintaining, and driving the execution of SubTeam plans, ensuring that deliverables are anticipated, sequenced, and tracked with precision. With a proactive and structured planning mindset, the EDSTP translates strategy into actionable roadmaps, manages cross-functional interdependencies, and ensures timely and transparent delivery, while supporting scenario planning, risk mitigation, and resource forecasting.

A key responsibility of the role is to manage the translation of ED activities into OnePlan, Ipsen’s Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) tool, ensuring consistency, visibility, and alignment of planning data across teams and functions.

The role also acts as a critical interface between ED Sub team, Strategy & Operations, and Asset Operations, ensuring transparency, alignment, and data consistency across the organization.

Main Responsibilities & Technical Competencies

  • Translate ED activities into structured plans within OnePlan, ensuring consistency and alignment across functions.
  • Drive planning discipline, ensuring deliverables, timelines, and responsibilities are clearly defined and tracked.
  • Identify the critical path and support decision-point planning to enable timely delivery of objectives.

Execution Monitoring & Delivery Support

  • Identify, communicate, and support resolution of risks, deviations, and operational challenges.
  • Track and highlight: Deliverables on time / at risk, Key milestones and decision points, Resource constraints and dependencies
  • Ensure decisions, actions, and next steps are captured, assigned, and tracked to completion.
  • Act as the central operational point of contact for Sub Team members and the ED Sub Team Lead and Heads of Function.
  • Ensure connection and alignment between sub team plan and global integrated asset plan through close collaboration with the Sub Team Lead and the Asset Operations Lead (AOL)
  • Develop a mindset around benchmarking versus competitors and use this approach to challenge plans and decisions with the sub team and to pressure test scenarios.

OnePlan & Data Integration
  • Lead the use of OnePlan (PPM tool) within ED Sub Teams, ensuring accurate and structured planning data.
  • Ensure high standards of data quality, consistency, and completeness across all planning inputs.
  • Translate activities into clear milestones, dependencies, and deliverables within the tool.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data structure, usability, and planning standards.

Resource & Risk Management
  • Support resource planning and workload visibility in collaboration with Sub Team Leads and functions, ensuring that needs are anticipated, aligned with priorities, and reflected in planning assumptions.
  • Identify and escalate resource constraints and capacity risks impacting delivery.
  • Apply structured risk management to identify, track, and mitigate risks and opportunities, and communicate effectively with the Sub Team Lead and the Asset Operations Lead (AOL) and Heads of Functions.
  • Support scenario planning and development of contingency and corrective actions.

Cross-functional Communication and Reporting
  • Act as a key interface between ED teams, Strategy & Operations, and Asset Operations, ensuring alignment and transparency.
  • Effectively communicates asset roadmap expectations to sub team members. Escalate issues to sub team lead, sub team members, AOL, ED HoFs and stakeholders in a timely fashion.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes, tools, and ways of working.
