About the Role
We are seeking a Software Developer to join our software engineering team at our Farnborough facility. This is a hands-on technical role where you will be part of a team of software engineers in the development of software products and solutions and conducting code reviews.
Key Responsibilities
- Working with a team of software engineers developing software, products and solutions and conducting code reviews.
- Ensuring the successful delivery of software activities on time and within scope
- Participate in investigation activities and technology assessments
- Promote a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning within the team
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain code quality and best practices
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience)
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant work experience in software engineering and development
- Proficiency in C/C++ programming with hands-on experience in production environments
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems
- Proficiency in Python programming with experience in real-world projects
- Demonstrated experience with software development methodologies and best practices (e.g., Agile, Scrum, CI/CD)
- Experience with version control systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
Desirable Qualifications
- Relevant certifications or training (e.g., Agile/Scrum Master, cloud certifications)
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with software architecture and design patterns
- Knowledge of security best practices and secure coding principles
UK Security Clearance eligibility is mandatory for this role.
Candidates must be:
- Sole UK nationals (no dual nationality)
- Holders of a valid British passport
- Continuously resident in the UK for the past 5 years
