Job description
Position: Science Teacher Location: Braintree Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Key Stages: KS3–KS5 Science Teacher Role in an Outstanding Secondary School An Outstanding Secondary School in Braintree is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Science Teacher to join its highly successful Science department from September. About the Role The successful candidate will teach Science across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering engaging practical and theory-based lessons that inspire students to explore the world through scientific enquiry. Students study Biology, Chemistry, and Physics through a broad and carefully sequenced curriculum that combines scientific theory with investigative practical work. At Key Stage 5, you will have the opportunity to teach your specialist discipline, preparing students for A-Level examinations while developing their analytical thinking, experimental skills, and understanding of scientific concepts. You will also contribute to curriculum development and the department's extensive STEM enrichment programme, including science clubs, competitions, educational visits, university partnerships, and outreach projects that encourage students to pursue careers in science, engineering, medicine, and technology. Key Responsibilities Teach Science across KS3, KS4, and KS5 Deliver engaging practical and theory-based lessons Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Science examinations Plan and supervise practical investigations safely and effectively Assess progress and provide high-quality, constructive feedback Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development Support STEM enrichment activities and extracurricular programmes Foster curiosity, resilience, and scientific enquiry The School Environment This Outstanding Secondary School is recognised for its high expectations, exceptional pastoral care, and commitment to academic excellence.
