About The Role We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Nurse to join our Primary Care and Mental Health team at HMP Preston, a category B Prison located in Preston. Prison Details HMP Preston is a remand male prison that accommodates adults 18+ and has a capacity of 680. Role Overview The Night Nurse will be based in the healthcare department and will assist with emergency response as part of the Primary Care Team. Please keep in mind that the night nurse will also be required to do a day shift on rotation for ongoing professional development, supporting every 3–6 months. During induction the first 4 weeks will be days; after completion the nurse will move to a permanent night rota. Hours * Monday – Sunday – 37.5 hours per week * 8:15 pm – 7:45 am – Nights Only * 7 nights on, 7 nights off Salary This full‑time position offers an annual salary between £34,428 and £41,659 per annum (FTE), depending on experience. What Youll Be Doing * Work within a multi‑disciplinary team to deliver a nurse‑led service and prevent hospital admissions * Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening * Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse‑led clinics to your patient group while being supported by a multi‑disciplinary team * Provide evidence‑based care, seeking out, listening to, and acting on patient feedback to personalise care * Deliver non‑judgemental care that makes a real difference * Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders * Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence‑based care, and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning * Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care and build strong multi‑disciplinary teams Career Development Opportunities We offer internal and external options for developing your skills and experience.
