Job description
Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale The Role A progressive Secondary School in Exeter is seeking a professional, commercially minded, and highly organised Economics & Business Studies Teacher to join their experienced Social Sciences faculty. This is an excellent opportunity to deliver a dynamic and challenging timetable across Key Stages 4 and 5, splitting instructional focus between microeconomic models, market failure parameters, and fiscal policy tracking at A-Level, alongside enterprise structures, financial forecasting, and marketing frameworks at GCSE. Key responsibilities include maintaining precise student progress logs, constructing multi-tier internal assessment files, managing parent-teacher communications, and actively mentoring student cohorts entering national business enterprise challenges and market simulations. You will support crisp communication with parents, university finance networks, and external examination boards, ensuring that all examination documentation, coursework files, and student assessment metrics are processed with total accuracy. Strong administrative and organizational skills are crucial, as the role requires managing distinct specification tracking channels across a large and driven student cohort. The school is looking for an educator who can confidently break down economic theories and business case studies into interactive, high-impact lessons that drive academic engagement.
