Spire Cambridge Lea Hospital is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Theatre Assistant to join our busy Operating Theatre team. Whether you already have experience in a theatre environment or are looking to take your first step into healthcare wed love to hear from you.

We are committed to developing our people and are happy to consider candidates with little or no previous theatre experience. If you have a positive attitude a willingness to learn and a genuine passion for supporting patients we can provide the training and support you need to succeed in this rewarding role.

What Youll Be Doing:

As a key member of the theatre team you will support the delivery of safe high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include

Supporting Nurses and Consultants during surgical procedures.

  • Assisting Scrub Nurses within operating theatres.
  • Supporting patients within the anaesthetic room.
  • Safely transporting patients to and from theatre and wards.
  • Opening sterile packs and preparing equipment for procedures.
  • Preparing checking and handling surgical instruments.
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness infection prevention and control.
  • Contributing to a safe efficient and high-quality theatre environment.
  • Providing reassurance and support to patients throughout their theatre experience.

Essential

  • A genuine interest in healthcare and patient wellbeing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Desirable

  • Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant Care Assistant Support Worker or within a healthcare environment.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care Care Certificate or equivalent.
  • Previous theatre experience (although full training will be provided).
