Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale The Role An ambitious Secondary Academy in Dorchester is seeking a professional, scientifically minded, and exceptionally organised Science Teacher specializing in Chemistry or Physics to join their dedicated STEM faculty. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a department that values technical inquiry, practical experimentation, and laboratory excellence as core pillars of the curriculum, boasting fantastic newly upgraded laboratory spaces and dedicated technician support. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across multiple key stages, specializing in atomic structure, molecular kinetics, and quantitative energetics (for Chemistry tracks) or Newtonian mechanics, field theories, and quantum phenomena (for Physics tracks) across GCSE and A-Level exam cohorts, alongside delivering inclusive general science modules across Key Stage 3. Key responsibilities include maintaining precise student laboratory metrics, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental resource logs, and coordinating an extensive timetable of scientific field studies and extracurricular STEM clubs. You will support seamless communication with parents, regional scientific bodies, and laboratory compliance officers, ensuring that all practical safety assessments, chemical/apparatus logs, and student metrics are processed with total accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills are necessary, as the role requires balancing active practical experiments in the lab with detailed coursework logging and academic theory delivery.
