Job description
Start Date: September 2026 Contract: Full-time, Permanent Salary: Paid to scale The Role An ambitious Secondary Academy in Norwich is seeking a professional, highly motivated, and exceptionally organised Health & Social Care Teacher to join their growing Social Sciences department. This is a premier opportunity to step into a faculty experiencing significant popularity, where vocational excellence and healthcare literacy are highly valued as core pillars of the school's advanced post-16 pathways. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across Key Stages 4 and 5, splitting instructional focus between human lifespan development, health and social care values, and public health metrics at Vocational Level 2, alongside advanced anatomy and physiology, meeting individual care needs, and safeguarding frameworks at Level 3 BTEC / A-Level. Key responsibilities include maintaining precise student portfolio records, constructing multi-tier internal verification tracking files, managing workplace placement correspondence, and coordinating student visits to local health services and clinical settings. You will support seamless communication with parents, regional healthcare partners, and external moderation boards, ensuring all coursework portfolios, witness statements, and exam entries are handled securely and professionally. Exceptional time-management skills are necessary, as this role requires managing distinct specification plans and evidence tracking tracks within a busy secondary academy environment. The academy welcomes applications from proactive, reliable professionals who are comfortable integrating interactive digital data platforms, case studies, and practical healthcare simulations into their regular teaching practice. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to fostering professional practice metrics among young people are essential to success in this position. School Information This is a thriving, well-established 11 to 18 Secondary Academy in Norwich with an exceptional reputation for broad curriculum access, academic innovation, and pupil wellbeing. Pupils are respectful, empathetic, and highly engaged in their studies, taking genuine pride in their learning environment and creating a calm, professional atmosphere across the study hubs. Staff are highly supported by a forward-thinking senior leadership team that prioritizes workload reduction, shared resources, and robust professional development paths. Requirements A recognized teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent) with a relevant degree in Nursing, Social Work, Health & Social Care, or a related social science field Previous experience delivering Health & Social Care specifications up to Level 3 BTEC or equivalent with strong results Strong data literacy and IT skills, with complete confidence using digital learning tracking systems and managing coursework folders Professional and proactive approach to tracking student metrics and executing internal moderation compliance Ability to work effectively and adaptably as part of a collaborative, busy academic team Application To apply, please send your comprehensive CV as soon as possible.
