Join Medacs Healthcare as a PIP Functional Assessor / Disability Assessor
\n
If you're an NMC‑registered Nurse or HCPC‑registered Paramedic, Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist considering a move away from hands‑on clinical care, this role offers a structured alternative where your clinical judgement remains central.
\n
Working as a PIP Functional Assessor, you'll evaluate how a person's health conditions impact their daily activities. This position focuses on professional assessment, evidence review and written clinical justification rather than treatment delivery.
\n
What you'll do
\n
\n - Conduct telephone PIP assessments in a professional and empathetic manner
\n - Analyse medical evidence and clinical information
\n - Produce accurate, detailed and evidence‑based written reports
\n - Work to defined quality standards and clinical frameworks
\n - Engage positively with feedback and development opportunities
\n - Collaborate with clinical and administrative colleagues
\n
\n
What we're looking for
\n
Essential:
\n
\n - Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN, RNLD), Physiotherapist, Paramedic or Occupational Therapist
\n - Active NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions
\n - Minimum 1 year's UK clinical experience
\n - Strong written and verbal communication skills
\n - Confident use of digital systems (35 WPM typing speed)
\n - Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
\n
\n
Desirable
\n
\n - Experience in functional assessment or advisory roles
\n - Confidence in producing high‑quality written clinical reports
\n
\n
What's on offer
\n
\n - Competitive salary with structured pay progression and bonus potential
\n - Approval bonus
\n - Remote working arrangement
\n - Structured hours - no evenings, weekends or bank holidays
\n - 25 days' annual leave plus your birthday off
\n - NMC/HCPC fee reimbursement after probation
\n - Comprehensive training and ongoing clinical support
\n - Clear progression routes and CPD opportunities
\n - £2,500 referral bonus (terms apply)
\n
\n
You'll enjoy this role if you…
\n
\n - Prefer structured assessments and clear clinical frameworks
\n - Feel confident using computers and learning new clinical systems
\n - Enjoy writing detailed, high‑quality reports
\n - Value routine, consistency and a balanced working pattern
\n - Are keen to learn and develop and open to constructive feedback
\n
\n
This role might not be right for you if you…
\n
\n - Are looking to stay in hands‑on clinical care or fast‑paced, acute settings
\n - Prefer minimal structure rather than clearly defined processes
\n - Don't enjoy detailed report writing or written clinical work
\n - Would find working mainly with digital systems frustrating
\n - Would be uncomfortable with re‑training for a different type of clinical role, which includes a comprehensive, supported training programme
\n - Would feel uncomfortable working in a role with targets and quality measures
\n
