Job description

Mental Health Act Administrator Department: Site Support Roles Employment Type: Permanent - Part Time Location: Priory Hospital Burgess Hill Compensation:£17,416 / year Description Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is looking to recruit a Mental Health Act Administrator to join the team. Set in attractive grounds in a rural setting, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is a purpose-built building with good links to the local community. We offer acute mental health support for adult males, as well as psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) support for adult males. Priory’s acute and PICU services aim to allow more people to be treated closer to home and we support the NHS to repatriate out-of-area patients back to local areas. What youll be doing You’ll be part of a dedicated and compassionate team, all working together to ensure the smooth running of the hospital and to support the wellbeing of our patients. While your role doesn’t involve providing direct care, your contribution is vital in helping to maintain a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for everyone. Whether youre assisting with day-to-day operations, keeping things organised, or ensuring our spaces are well looked after, your support plays an important part in creating a positive experience for those who live and work here. * To manage the efficient administration of the Mental Health Act (MHA) within the area of responsibility and prioritise workload to meet constantly changing demands. * To ensure compliance with the MHA 1983, amendments to the act and the revised MHA Code of Practice. * To support and advise staff, service users and relatives on the MHA 1983 and associated procedures. * Responsible for ensuring the effective creation and maintenance of legal files for service users subject to the Act, safeguarding confidential information and statutory documentation. * Maintain accurate data in relation to the use of the Act in order to provide statistical information for national and local reporting processes. You can find additional information in the attached job description. What youll bring to the role Our work is rewarding but can be challenging, so resilience is key. No two days are the same! Your natural empathy will help you support others through both the highs and lows. Candidates should have experience working within an administrative team, ideally in a healthcare or legal environment, with excellent administrative skills and a working knowledge of mental health services and relevant legislation. A good standard of general education is required, including GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English, along with competence in Microsoft Office. The role requires the ability to support and advise staff on Mental Health Act (MHA) administrative requirements, as well as the capability to understand, interpret, and apply relevant legislation and current case law. The successful candidate will also be able to work effectively under pressure, prioritising tasks to meet constantly changing demands. For more information about the role, you can email ChloeIoannou@priorygroup.com What we will give you in return We want you to succeed at Priory and thrive in your role. You will be well supported with regular career conversations. We also offer full training and numerous pathways into leadership and qualified clinical positions to help you shape your career with us. * Free on-site parking * Birthday Holiday - your birthday as an extra days annual leave * Enhanced maternity pay * Contributory pension scheme * Flexible benefits including reduced rates and access to new schemes including gym membership, IT technology (laptops / tablets / smartphones) and Healthcare Cash Plan (Simply Health Scheme) * Access to development opportunities * Sponsorship of professional qualifications through our Individual Professional Development (IPD) panel * Leadership & management development * Long service award * Refer a friend bonuses J-18808-Ljbffr
