We make health happen
At New Victoria Hospital, we're committed to delivering exceptional patient care in a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment. Our nursing teams are at the heart of everything we do, providing outstanding care and clinical expertise to help patients achieve the best possible outcomes. As a Staff Nurse, you'll be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team that puts patient wellbeing, dignity, and safety first.

How you’ll help us make health happen
As a Staff Nurse, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across our inpatient services. Working closely with consultants, nursing colleagues, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you'll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care programmes while ensuring patients receive exceptional support throughout their hospital stay.

Key responsibilities
  • Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care in line with professional standards and hospital policies.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for patients.
  • Monitor patient progress, identifying and responding to changes in condition appropriately.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely in accordance with clinical protocols.
  • Support patients and their families throughout admission, treatment, and discharge.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure effective clinical handovers.
  • Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing colleagues, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
  • Promote patient safety, infection prevention, clinical governance, and risk management standards.
  • Support the development of colleagues, students, and new team members through training and mentorship.
  • Contribute to maintaining a professional, organised, and high-performing clinical environment.

What we’re looking for
  • Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • High attention to detail and strong clinical judgement.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and responsive to changing service needs.
  • Committed to continuous professional and personal development.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a patient-focused approach.
  • Newly qualified nurses are welcome to apply.
  • Previous surgical experience, mentoring experience, and teaching skills would be advantageous.

Benefits
At New Victoria Hospital, we want to reward our staff for the amazing job that they do.

As part of the team, you will have access to a range of benefits for your work and home life.
