Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Do you have experience working with young people in an educational, care, support work, or social care setting? If so, we'd love to hear from you.

We are currently recruiting Unqualified SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of schools and specialist provisions in Thetford and the surrounding areas. This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with a variety of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, Speech and Language Difficulties, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs, and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD).

Our partner schools are committed to providing inclusive, nurturing environments where every student is supported to achieve their full potential. If you're dedicated to helping young people overcome barriers to learning and build confidence, independence, and essential life skills, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEN needs, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships that support students' personal and academic development.
  • Implement individual learning and behaviour support strategies in collaboration with teachers and SENCOs.
  • Support the development of literacy, numeracy, communication, and essential life skills.
  • Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and self-regulation strategies.
  • Deliver engaging activities that encourage confidence, independence, and social interaction.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN, education, care, support work, or social care setting.
  • A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs.
  • Patience, resilience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to adapt your approach to meet the individual needs of pupils.
  • A proactive attitude towards promoting positive behaviour and engagement.
  • A commitment to ongoing training and professional development.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential, as travel between schools and specialist provisions across Thetford and surrounding areas may be required.

What We Offer

  • Access to specialist SEN training and professional development through Teaching Personnel's CPD Academy.
  • Competitive weekly pay, tailored to your experience and availability.
  • Opportunities to gain valuable experience across a variety of SEN settings.
  • User-friendly online systems for timesheets and communication.
  • Ongoing support and guidance from a dedicated consultant.
  • Flexible opportunities to suit your availability and career aspirations.
