This role provides academic oversight of Emergency Medicine placements across the clinical practice years, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and equitable learning experiences across multiple NHS sites. It reflects the increasing importance of strong coordination between the University and placement providers, high-quality digital learning resources, and alignment between curriculum, assessment, and workplace-based learning. You will work closely with the MBBS leadership and Quality teams, as well as NHS placement leads, to support delivery, coordination, and continuous improvement of Emergency Medicine teaching and placement experience, in line with GMC Outcomes for Graduates. Duties * Provide academic oversight of Emergency Medicine placement content on the Virtual Learning Environment * Ensure alignment between learning outcomes, assessment, and clinical placement experience * Act as a key academic liaison between the University and NHS placement providers * Support consistency and equivalence of student experience across all sites * Contribute to curriculum development, review, and quality assurance processes * Support resolution of placement-related issues and elevate concerns where appropriate * Engage with assessment processes and contribute to question writing and examining where appropriate * Maintain effective communication with academic teams, placement leads, and administrative colleagues * Support innovation in digital and blended learning delivery Key: Essential (E) or Desirable (D) Method(s) of Assessment: Application (A), Interview (I), or Exercise (E) Statements, ST=Selection Test/Presentation, INT=Interview Experience * Current, or very recent experience as placement lead at a partner NHS provider D AF, INT, SS1 * Experience of teaching medicine at an undergraduate and/or foundation level E AF, INT, SS2 * Experience in medical education assessment D AF, INT, SS3 * Evidence of academic scholarship and a scholarly approach to education.
