Job description

As a Clinical Application Specialist – Radiotherapy Physics for this family-run oncology medical device technology company, you’ll deliver expert equipment and software product demonstrations, training and installations for radiotherapy teams across the country…

  • Deliver customer training, product demonstrations, and applications support to Clinical Scientists, Medical Physicists, Dosimetrists, and Radiotherapy teams in NHS and private radiation oncology centres. This is not a sales role – the focus is entirely on clinical education and support.
  • Support customers with AI-driven treatment planning automation tools, including auto-contouring, automated 3D planning, and plan checking and evaluation software. You’ll be trained to deliver your own customer training sessions on these products.
  • You’ll also undertake on-site QA phantom installations and calibrations across a portfolio of radiotherapy physics hardware and dosimetry equipment, including patient QA phantoms, beam QA devices, electrometers, ion chambers, and water tanks, working closely with your Clinical Application Specialist and medical sales colleagues and the wider team.
  • Covering the UK, with occasional trips to support customers in Ireland. There is a slight preference for candidates based in the Midlands or Northern England, though location is flexible for the right person. A typical week involves 3-4 days visiting customer sites, 1-2 working from home, and averaging one to two nights away.

COMPANY

  • A well-established, privately owned company specialising in radiotherapy and oncology technology. Stable, growing, and genuinely close-knit – this is a business with a strong track record, an expanding product portfolio, and a supporting team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A Clinical Scientist, Medical Physicist, or Dosimetrist with experience in radiotherapy physics. A Clinical Technologist with strong QA and RT physics grounding will also be considered. The role requires sufficient medical physics depth to undertake on-site calibrations and installations independently, although full training will be provided.
  • A natural communicator who can present confidently and build trust with clinical audiences. Able to independently run training sessions and product demonstrations with groups of Medical Physicists and Radiation Therapy professionals. Previous commercial experience as a Clinical Application Specialist or similar is not required, but a genuine interest in technology and building long-term customer relationships is.
  • Suitable locations include (but are not limited to): Manchester, Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby, Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham, and Coventry. Other UK locations will be considered. Full rights to work in the UK and a valid driving licence are required.

PACKAGE

  • Salary guide: £50,000 – £55,000 base (negotiable), company bonus, an electric car, and great benefits which include professional, personal and wellbeing budgets
