Job description

Pertemps is recruiting on behalf of our client for two dedicated Youth Development Workers to join a supported accommodation service supporting young people aged 16–25.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference, helping young people develop the confidence, resilience, and life skills needed to live independently and achieve their goals.

The RoleAs a Youth Development Worker, you will provide person-centred support to young people, empowering them to overcome challenges and move towards independent living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one key worker support to young people aged 16–25.

  • Develop, implement, and review individual support and action plans.

  • Complete and maintain risk assessments and risk management plans.

  • Support tenancy sustainment and housing-related matters.

  • Assist with benefits applications, including Universal Credit, PIP, and Housing Benefit.

  • Help young people develop budgeting and money management skills.

  • Support access to education, training, and employment opportunities.

  • Work collaboratively with external agencies and support services.

  • Prepare young people for successful move-on and independent living.

  • Deliver creative, flexible, and person-centred support tailored to individual needs.

About You

We're looking for passionate individuals who are committed to achieving positive outcomes for young people.
You will ideally have:

  • Experience engaging with and supporting young people.

  • A strong understanding of safeguarding principles.

  • Knowledge of emotional wellbeing and mental health challenges affecting young people.

  • Experience creating and reviewing support plans.

  • An understanding of risk assessment and risk management.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • A proactive and resilient approach to supporting vulnerable individuals.
