AWS DevOps Engineer

Role Overview
<\/h2>

Scrumconnect is seeking an experienced AWS DevOps Engineer to support the delivery of large -scale digital services within a complex cloud environment.
<\/p>

You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimising AWS infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and cloud operations across multiple environments. The role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including software developers, architects, testers, and delivery teams, to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.
<\/p>

The successful candidate will have strong experience across AWS services, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and modern application architectures comprising React front -end applications, microservices, serverless functions, and event -driven integrations.

Key Responsibilities
<\/h2>
  • Support the setup, configuration, and management of multiple AWS environments across development, test, staging, and production.
    <\/li>
  • Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using Git -based tooling.
    <\/li>
  • Manage AWS infrastructure supporting a mix of React front -end applications, microservices, AWS Lambda functions, and Kafka event integrations.
    <\/li>
  • Support integrations involving ETL processes and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions.
    <\/li>
  • Implement and manage secure networking patterns, including AWS Transit Gateway and PrivateLink where required.
    <\/li>
  • Support the deployment and management of Kong Enterprise API Gateway.
    <\/li>
  • Administer Multi -Factor Authentication (MFA) and AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) roles and permissions for development teams.
    <\/li>
  • Ensure AWS resources are correctly tagged and managed in accordance with FinOps standards and governance requirements.
    <\/li>
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability across environments.
    <\/li>
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to improve automation, deployment efficiency, and operational excellence.
    <\/li>
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across cloud environments.
    <\/li>
  • Contribute to cloud security best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
    <\/li>
  • Support the delivery of highly accessible digital services, ensuring front -end solutions align with WCAG 2.2 AAA accessibility standards.

    Essential Skills & Experience
    <\/h2>
    • Strong experience designing, deploying, and supporting AWS cloud infrastructure.
      <\/li>
    • Experience managing multiple environments within AWS.
      <\/li>
    • Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Git -based workflows.
      <\/li>
    • Experience supporting modern application architectures, including:
      • React front -end applications
        <\/li>
      • Microservices
        <\/li>
      • AWS Lambda functions
        <\/li>
      • Event -driven architectures using Kafka
        <\/li><\/ul><\/li>
      • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent).
        <\/li>
      • Strong understanding of AWS networking concepts, including Transit Gateway and PrivateLink.
        <\/li>
      • Experience administering IAM, MFA, and security controls.
        <\/li>
      • Knowledge of API management platforms such as Kong Enterprise.
        <\/li>
      • Experience implementing cloud governance and FinOps practices, including resource tagging standards.
        <\/li>
      • Strong troubleshooting and problem -solving skills.
        <\/li>
      • Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
        <\/li><\/ul>

        Desirable Skills
        <\/h2>
        • Experience supporting ETL pipelines and data integration solutions.
          <\/li>
        • Exposure to Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms.
          <\/li>
        • Experience delivering services within UK Government or highly regulated environments.
          <\/li>
        • Familiarity with accessibility standards, particularly WCAG 2.2.
          <\/li>
        • Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as CloudWatch, Grafana, or Prometheus.
          <\/li><\/ul>
