Your Next Role: Referral Lead
As Referral Lead you will be the primary link between Newmedica Bristol and our external referrers. Youll be highly visible within the community building trusted relationships with optometrists GPs referral centres and Local Optical Committees (LOCs) to promote Newmedica services and grow both NHS and private referrals.
This is a varied field-based role combining relationship management data-driven planning marketing collaboration and event delivery. Youll play a key role in shaping referral engagement strategies that support sustainable service growth across multiple territories.
What Youll Do
- Act as the main point of contact for external referrers building strong and effective relationships across your designated territories
- Develop and deliver referral engagement plans in collaboration with OJV Partners Heads of Service and the Marketing team
- Drive growth in NHS and private referrals in line with agreed KPIs with a strong focus on cataract referrals
- Analyse referral data (using tools such as PowerBI) to identify trends risks and opportunities for targeted engagement
- Promote Newmedica pathways referral processes indicative wait times (IWT) and referral-to-treatment times (RTT)
- Plan and deliver meetings seminars CPD events and attend regional and national optical events
- Act as a two-way communication conduit between referrers and Newmedica resolving issues where possible and escalating when needed
What Were Looking For
Were after someone whos not only organised and efficient but also passionate about people and service. Ideally youll bring:
- Experience working in an optical or ophthalmic environment
- Experience within a multi-site clinical or healthcare setting with an understanding of the NHS landscape
- Proven ability to promote services to a large and diverse client base
- Strong influencing negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience developing plans working to targets and presenting to senior stakeholders
- Confidence analysing and interpreting data to inform decisions
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong organisation prioritisation and event-planning skills
- Confidence presenting to small and large groups and facilitating meetings
- Full comfort with extensive travel and remote working
- Good IT skills including Word PowerPoint and Excel
