Healthcare Assistant - Pre Assessment

37.5 Hours & Permanent
Salary: Up to 25500.00 per year (depending on level of experience training and qualification)

Ross Hall Clinic Braehead in Glasgow is part of Circle Health Group Britains leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in thePre Assessment department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern including night shifts.

Duties of this role include:

  • Assist patients with personal hygiene washing dressing toileting oral care and mobility needs respecting their preferences and dignity.

  • Help patients with eating drinking and nutritional support including documenting intake where appropriate.

  • Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives creating a caring and safe environment.

  • Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure pulse respiratory rate temperature oxygen saturation and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).

  • Support basic clinical procedures including wound care setup assisting with catheter care pressure area prevention and mobility aids.

  • Prepare and maintain clinical areas including trolleys beds and equipment in readiness for patient use.

  • Work collaboratively with nurses doctors therapists and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital care home community or domiciliary).

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring compassionate attitude.

  • Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.

  • Basic literacy numeracy and IT skills.

  • Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.

  • Knowledge of safeguarding infection control and confidentiality procedures.
