The Role

At Airwallex product is at the heart of everything we do. We are looking for visionaries to come build the next-generation payments platform. Our team brings together commercial strategy engineering design and regulatory expertise to deliver powerful financial products to customers around the world. We obsess over the details push the boundaries of whats possible and build world-class solutions that scale globally.

As a Product Lead youll play a defining role in shaping the future of our payments infrastructure by pioneering an Agentic Payments Platform. You will be tasked to reimagine existing industry workflows with AI-native capabilitiesdesigning strategy defining solutions and driving delivery from concept to launch. Youll lead our Payments Product team focused on building and optimizing the core clearing and settlement platform that powers how money moves across card networks banks ledgers and most importantly: our merchants wallets. As we grow and scale transaction volume worldwide this platform needs to go beyond being robust and cost-efficient; it must actively anticipate and automate the future of money movement.

In this role youll lead key initiatives end-to-end including:

• Owning the end-to-end merchant experience: From instant low-friction onboarding through to the ongoing lifecycle reducing complexity at every step.

• Optimizing global payment flows: Enhancing platform capabilities (e.g. intelligent batching fee netting routing) to improve settlement speed accuracy and cash velocity.

• Strengthening infrastructure: Driving reliability compliance and liquidity management to deliver resilient capabilities for reconciliation and regulatory reporting.

• Deploying AI-native capabilities: Embedding autonomous agents into how we interact with merchants collect feedback and automate traditional industry workflowspowering smarter support proactive insights and real-time visibility.

Youll work closely with product engineering design and commercial teams to bring these cutting-edge capabilities to life and help shape the infrastructure behind one of the most dynamic AI-forward fintech platforms in the world.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in a high-growth environment ideally in fintech or platform products.

• Bachelors degree or higher with strong academic performance; technical or engineering coursework a plus.

• Technical fluency and the ability to engage confidently in architectural discussions around high-scale mission-critical systems.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate product strategy across technical and non-technical teams.

• Analytical rigour: a sharp eye for detail structured problem-solving skills and a data-driven mindset.

• Bias for action: grit persistence and ownership to turn complex ideas into real-world products quickly.

• Collaborative mindset and the ability to thrive in cross-functional cross-cultural teams.

Preferred

• Experience building or scaling API products ideally in a fintech or payments environment
