Job Description

Overview

Do you thrive on building strong relationships and bringing people together to deliver meaningful outcomes? Are you looking for an opportunity to make a real impact in the nuclear industry?

Join us as a Senior Project Manager, where you'll be part of a diverse portfolio of high-profile and complex projects. At AtkinsRéalis, we value your unique skills, leadership style, and experiences. This is your opportunity to shape the future of nuclear construction while continuing to grow as a well-rounded leader in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Your role

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Be part of our Nuclear New Build business within the Project Delivery Capability team, contributing to complex and high-impact engineering projects.
  • Lead within a team that delivers across both technical leadership and project management, within a rapidly growing and evolving capability.
  • Work across a diverse and global portfolio of projects spanning the UK, Europe, and the Middle East, including both large civil nuclear and emerging nuclear technologies.
  • Provide leadership and direction as a Senior Project Manager, guiding teams in alignment with AtkinsRéalis' values, processes, and collaborative culture.
  • Lead and support delivery across major programmes such as Hinkley Point C, Sizewell C, Small Modular Reactors, and Fusion projects.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders across the nuclear sector, leveraging established partnerships.
  • Work flexibly across office locations (Bristol, Epsom and Manchester) and client sites, with opportunities to travel based on project needs.
  • Contribute to shaping delivery strategy and execution across Nuclear New Build programmes, ensuring quality and performance standards are met.
  • Play a key role in driving forward projects that support a cleaner, zero-carbon future.
  • Contribute to and, where appropriate, lead bid and proposal activities, supporting the development of high-quality, client-focused submissions.
  • Bring an interest in bid management and business development, with opportunities to help shape future work and strengthen client relationships.

About you

We take a strengths-based approach, recognising that strong leaders bring a variety of styles, experiences, and perspectives. You may find that many of the following resonate with you:
  • You enjoy leading multidisciplinary teams and creating an environment where people feel supported, aligned, and motivated to deliver complex projects.
  • You bring strong experience in delivering large-scale or multi-million-pound projects, with a sense of ownership for outcomes and performance.
  • You're confident navigating the commercial aspects of project delivery, including cost, risk, change control, and overall financial performance.
  • You feel comfortable responding to client needs and opportunities, including leading or contributing to bid preparation across a range of technical areas.
  • You bring a proactive and adaptable mindset, able to anticipate challenges and apply a thoughtful, solutions-focused approach.
  • You enjoy working in dynamic and diverse project environments, and communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • You're motivated by continuous learning and growth, while also supporting and guiding others within multidisciplinary teams.
  • You are confident in managing quality and delivery performance, and enjoy applying structured project management approaches to achieve successful outcomes.
  • You bring familiarity with, or openness to using, project management tools and systems such as MS Project, stage gate processes, or equivalent platforms.
  • You value collaboration, inclusivity, and building strong relationships, both within your team and with clients.
