Closing Literacy Gaps: Identify and target reading and writing misconceptions, deploying structured scaffolding, Tier 3 vocabulary instruction, and targeted reading interventions to accelerate the progress of all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEND). Rigorous Examination Preparation: Guide Year 11 cohorts systematically through the demands of terminal GCSE English Language and English Literature papers, teaching explicit essay-writing structures, close-text analysis, and time-management techniques. Data-Driven Interventions: Meticulously analyse formative assessment data and mock exam scripts to pinpoint specific weaknesses in expression or analysis, deploying immediate, targeted SPaG (Spelling, Punctuation, and Grammar) and thesis-building workshops. Community Pastoral Care: Fulfil full form tutor responsibilities within an established year group structure, managing daily registration, delivering pastoral curriculum units, and maintaining proactive, supportive communication with families. PROFILE REQUIREMENTS Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised equivalent teaching credential, paired with a strong honours degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing, or a closely related humanities discipline. Pedagogical Capability: A proven track record or clear capacity to deliver strong progress metrics in terminal public GCSE examinations across both English Language and English Literature through structured, explicit literacy pedagogy.
