Think of yourself as a strategic architect and operational engine playing a direct role in the growth, innovation and end-to-end operational delivery of our Autonomous Vehicle (AV) division. You will orchestrate high-stakes operational campaigns -including the launch and scaling of remote assistance, emergency response, and localized fleet management - ensuring that our industry-leading safety SLAs, technical metrics, and regulatory requirements are met with absolute precision.

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • AV Operations Strategy: Act as the primary operational leader for our UK presence, deeply understanding the AV industry, competitive pressures, and local regulatory frameworks to scale operations safely and efficiently.

  • Fiscal & P&L Stewardship: Own the full operational budget and financial forecasting for UK operations. Ensure top-line revenue targets, gross margins, and cost-per-mile metrics align with the specialized costs of high-tier technical support and fleet maintenance.

  • Scale & Infrastructure Growth: Map out and execute the physical and digital infrastructure roadmaps required to support expanded remote assistance, emergency dispatch technologies, and depot operations.

  • Regulatory & Compliance Management: Ensure all operations strictly adhere to UK transportation laws, autonomous vehicle testing regulations, and local municipal frameworks, managing liability and performance requirements with zero tolerance for compromise.

Stakeholder Management & High-Stakes Communication

  • Executive & Global Alignment: Serve as the critical bridge between UK ground operations, global cross-functional leadership, and our C-suite, possessing the professional gravitas to influence global operational strategies.

  • Crisis & Incident Command: Serve as the ultimate escalation point for critical operational incidents. You must remain poised under extreme pressure, leading incident response teams during high-stakes safety or technical anomalies.

  • Cross-Functional Orchestration: Partner seamlessly with internal departments (Client Services, WF, Finance etc.) to ensure local operational requirements and remote assistant needs are prioritized and resourced.

Operational Excellence & Risk Mitigation

  • UK Launch & Deployment: Lead the strategic launch of our remote assistant networks and emergency response frameworks in the UK, applying a "fail-proof," safety-first methodology to these life-critical workstreams.

  • Performance Accountability: Drive operational teams to consistently exceed strict contractual and internal KPIs, specifically those tied to latency, uptime, response times, and safety protocols essential for rider and public trust.

  • Vigilant Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify operational, technical, and commercial risks inherent in scaling autonomous technology. Architect and implement innovative operational workflows that allow for rapid software/hardware deployment without compromising public safety.

Team Empowerment & Innovation

  • Specialized Talent & Culture: Build and mentor a high-performing operations team. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, coaching personnel in advanced AV monitoring, emergency protocols, and human-in-the-loop AI integration.

  • Value-Driven Innovation: Continuously audit depot and remote operations to identify inefficiencies. Champion technical and operational innovations that differentiate our services from global competitors.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations management, fleet response, scale-up technology environments, or high-stakes mission control/call center operations.

  • Sector Expertise: Proven track record within the Autonomous Vehicle (AV) industry, Advanced Mobility sectors, ridesharing platforms, or automotive OEMs, with deep experience navigating complex operational frameworks.

  • Strategic Launch Track Record: Demonstrated success launching and scaling complex, real-time operational service lines, preferably involving emergency response, dispatch, or remote assistance environments.

  • UK Market Expertise: Deep familiarity with UK-specific transport regulations, labor laws, and business operations.

  • Technical & Analytical Literacy: Ability to interpret complex technical telemetry, data analytics, and commercial requirements related to AV technology, translating them into operational execution.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or MBA is preferred.

Work Location / Schedule

  • Location: Onsite, but must be based near or willing to relocate to the Manchester, UK area to oversee local operations.

  • Hours: Primary UK working hours (with flexibility to support global business needs).

How We Partner To Protect You: TaskUs will neither solicit money from you during your application process nor require any form of payment in order to proceed with your application. Kindly ensure that you are always in communication with only authorized recruiters of TaskUs.
