Associate / Solicitor (2-5 PQE) Motor Crime (Regulatory Crime)

Were looking for a lawyer with experience in defending motor crime investigations and prosecutions to join our specialist Regulatory Crime Department in Manchester.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing market-leading team within a top 20 international law firm recognised in the Legal 500 for its expertise in Motor Crime.
The Opportunity
Youll work on a high-quality often high-profile caseload representing clients across England & Walesfrom early police investigations through to trial.
Typical matters include:
- Death by dangerous or careless driving
- Serious injury by careless driving
- Careless driving offences
- Drink driving speeding no insurance
Youll gain exposure to:
- Police station representation
- Criminal court proceedings
- Coroners Court work
- Complex cases supported by leading experts and Kings Counsel
This is a unique chance to practice criminal defence within a corporate insurer-backed environment (no legal aid work).

Who Were Looking For
Were open to a wide range of candidates including:
- NQ Solicitors Legal Executives and experienced lawyers (all PQE levels)
- Defence or prosecution backgrounds
Youll ideally have:
- Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System (England & Wales)
- Experience with or exposure to motoring offences
- Strong communication and client-handling skills
- A proactive resilient approach in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to travel nationally (full UK driving licence essential)
Advocacy experience is beneficial but not required.
