Job description
WE ARE CDE. HERE TO CREATE OUR BEST WORLD, A TON AT A TIME. Sand is a finite resource, and it's running out. Today, population growth and the pace of progress means the world is devouring sand like never before - 50 billion tonnes a year globally. This demand is unsustainable. Together with our customers we have already diverted over 100 million tonnes of waste material from landfill and put it back into the materials market for use in construction; protecting sand & aggregates in areas where natural material reserves are in decline and enabling production to happen closer to markets. We are minimising environmental impact and laying the foundations for the circular economy. Job Purpose To safely carry out required fabrication and/or welding tasks and duties in accordance with specifications and per Company standards by performing the following duties: About this role Responsibilities Strictly adhere to company health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures at all times. Perform MIG welding on mild steel components, including: Producing high-quality welds in line with engineering drawings and welding specifications. Inspecting and verifying weld accuracy and integrity. Preparing materials for welding through grinding, drilling, milling, tapping, and cutting. Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and shop orders to plan and execute fabrication tasks. Assist in the design and development of jigs and fixtures to improve fabrication and welding accuracy and improve efficiency, and repeatability within CDE. Maintain 5S housekeeping standards within the work area and proactively suggest improvements. Set up and operate welding equipment safely, ensuring all safety controls and devices are correctly in place. Conduct first-off and in-process inspections in accordance with CDE quality standards. Work to agreed production schedules, achieving output targets in line with operational and customer demand. Perform routine and preventative maintenance on welding and fabrication equipment as scheduled. Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance requirements promptly. Support continuous improvement activities within the fabrication area. Cross train and share knowledge with other employees. Undertake any other reasonable duties as required to support production and business needs. Other To adhere to CDE policy and practice.
