Job Description

About the Role

The UK water sector is entering a period of unprecedented investment and transformation. As Egis accelerates the growth of its Water Business in the UK, we are building a high-performing EICA Engineering team to help shape this next chapter.

We are inviting applicants who want to play a meaningful role in delivering major water and wastewater programmes. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will contribute to technically robust, sustainable and innovative treatment solutions across nationally significant projects.

This is a rare opportunity to join at a key stage of our UK growth journey, helping to establish, shape and expand an EICA engineering capability built on Egis’ global infrastructure expertise and long-term commitment to the sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead defined discipline tasks or design packages across feasibility, optioneering, concept, outline and detailed design.
• Prepare, check and coordinate technical deliverables including calculations, specifications, reports, schedules, drawings, models and design philosophies.
• Take ownership of assigned work packages, managing technical quality, interfaces, scope, budget, programme and change.
• Lead site visits, surveys, data reviews and technical discussions with clients, operators, suppliers and contractors.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary interfaces and support integrated MEP/treatment design, including operability, maintainability and constructability.
• Apply digital tools, modelling, automation and data analysis to improve delivery efficiency and design quality.
• Support CDM/safety-by-design reviews, technical risk management, HAZOP/HAZID inputs and design assurance.
• Review supplier/contractor submissions, respond to technical queries and support commissioning or handover where required.
• Mentor Engineers and Graduates and contribute to discipline standards, templates and good practice.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• BEng/MEng or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Chartered Engineer status, or able to demonstrate significant CEng-level experience while actively progressing towards chartership.
• Typically 6+ years’ relevant engineering design experience, preferably including UK water/wastewater treatment projects.
• Proven ability to deliver discipline design packages within multidisciplinary projects.
• Strong ability to prepare and check discipline-specific calculations, specifications, reports, schedules, drawings, models and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of UK water industry standards, CDM 2015, safety-by-design and relevant discipline requirements.
• Ability to coordinate interfaces and resolve technical issues across disciplines.
• Good commercial awareness and ability to deliver to agreed scope, budget and programme.
• Strong communication skills, including ability to lead technical discussions and present recommendations clearly.

Desirable Skills / Knowledge

• Experience with AMP8, WINEP, SROs, D&B, framework, alliance or major capital delivery environments.
• Experience in advanced treatment, sludge/bioresources, nutrient removal, water reuse, pumping, package plant, energy recovery or automation-led improvements.
• Experience with digital delivery tools such as BIM/3D coordination, process simulation, hydraulic modelling, dashboards, Python, VBA, Power BI or automated calculations.
• Experience supporting FAT/SAT, commissioning, performance testing, HAZOPs or technical assurance reviews.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and improving discipline workflows or technical standards.

Please note that you must have the right to work in the UK to be considered for this position.
