Team Overview The Commercial, Technology & Data team is recognised for advising both UK and international clients on complex commercial arrangements, strategic projects, and technology-driven initiatives. The team works across a broad range of sectors including technology, life sciences, financial services, consumer products, hospitality, infrastructure, and emerging industries. Lawyers within the team advise on a diverse portfolio of commercial agreements and projects, often involving multi-jurisdictional considerations and business-critical operations. Role Overview The successful candidate will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on a broad range of commercial and technology matters. The role offers exposure to complex contractual arrangements, strategic technology projects, regulatory considerations, and cross-border transactions. The position provides an excellent opportunity to develop sector expertise while advising clients on day-to-day commercial matters and long-term strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities * Draft, review and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including supply, services, distribution, agency, manufacturing, licensing and collaboration agreements. * Advise clients on technology-related arrangements, including software licensing, digital transformation projects, outsourcing transactions, and technology procurement matters. * Support corporate and private capital transactions through due diligence exercises and the preparation of ancillary commercial agreements. * Provide pragmatic advice on contractual risk allocation, regulatory compliance, operational issues, and commercial strategy. * Conduct legal research and remain informed on developments across commercial, technology, data, and emerging regulatory frameworks. * Assist with multi-jurisdictional projects involving colleagues across different practice areas and international offices. * Build and maintain strong client relationships while delivering commercially focused legal solutions. * Participate in business‑development initiatives, client events, thought‑leadership projects, and marketing activities. * Support the continued growth of the practice through market engagement and relationship building. Candidate Profile * Qualified solicitor with experience advising on a broad range of commercial contractual matters. * Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills with the ability to manage matters effectively. * Experience handling commercial agreements such as services, supply, distribution, licensing, outsourcing, manufacturing, or collaboration arrangements. * Exposure to technology, data, digital transformation, or software‑related projects would be advantageous. * Commercially minded with the ability to deliver practical and business‑focused advice. * Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Proactive, collaborative, and capable of building effective working relationships with clients and colleagues. * Demonstrates strong attention to detail, sound judgement, and a solutions‑focused approach. * Interested in business development and contributing to the growth of a successful commercial practice. * Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team on complex and high‑profile matters.
