Orthopaedic Clinical Leader:

Tunbridge Wells Hospital | Theatre | Permanent | Full time

Up to £52,500.00 per annum, dependent on experience
37.5 hours per week

We are looking for an Orthopaedic Clinical Leader for our Hospital to help us build a healthier nation. You’re registered with the appropriate governing body and you have the relevant qualifications and post registration in surgery/anaesthetics experience, including as a Registered Nurse or HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner. With strong clinical leadership, you will guide your team a shared vision promoting innovation and sustainability. As a clinical leader, you will have good communication and organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team, knowledge and understanding of running a smooth & effective department equipment is also essential.

As an Orthopaedic Clinical Leader:

  • Ensure the efficient running of the orthopaedic team, support and Deputise for the Clinical Head of Department (as required).

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all members of the MDT , Consultants and Patients

  • Enthusiastic and motivated with a strong “can do” attitude that replicates your own desire to succeed

  • Co-ordinate activity and be responsible for patient care and safety

  • Be instrumental to the patient experience, ensuring seamless, personalised care

  • Apply your knowledge and skills in assessment, care planning and delivery

  • Champion a supportive, enabling working culture on the ward, promoting staff safety and education

  • Have SFA or SCP experience


As our Clinical Leader, you will:

  • Conduct and organize the Orthopaedic Clinical and the wider team within theatre, which include the smooth running of the theatre lists and organizing booking forms and assisting sessions in theatres

  • Work collaboratively and flexibly across the theatre suites to accommodate the service demands of each department, which include Endoscopy, General, Orthopaedics, Gynae, ENT, Recovery and Anaesthetics

  • Promote effective clinical risk management and governance within the department, including safety and risk management, quality improvement and ensure policies and procedure, to enhance patient care and service delivery.

  • Have extensive knowledge required for dealing with audits and equipment.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of surgical techniques and associated equipment

  • Have ample opportunities for continuous growth and personal development.
