Purpose of the Role
As a Starbucks Barista, you will deliver an exceptional customer experience, serving high-quality beverages and food in a friendly and efficient manner. You will contribute to a welcoming and safe environment while supporting the team and the store’s operational goals.
Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service.
Take accurate orders and operate the point-of-sale system.
Prepare and serve coffee, tea, specialty drinks, and food items according to Starbucks recipes and standards.
Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of work areas, equipment, and customer spaces in line with health and safety standards.
Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels to ensure smooth store operations.
Collaborate with team members to achieve store goals and provide support during busy periods.
Follow all company policies and procedures, including cash handling, safety, and food hygiene requirements.
Assist with training of new team members when needed.
Essential:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Friendly, customer-focused attitude.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Basic cash handling and transaction processing skills.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move stock when necessary.
Willingness to follow company standards and maintain quality and safety practices.
Desirable:
Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or food service.
Knowledge of coffee preparation and brewing techniques.
Experience in a team-oriented environment.
Standing for long periods and working on your feet.
Handling hot beverages and equipment.
Working under pressure during busy periods.
Regular interaction with customers and team members.
