Position: Reception Teacher Location: Hammersmith Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September Phase: Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Reception Teaching Role in a Community Primary School A welcoming Community Primary School in Hammersmith is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and nurturing Reception Teacher to join its successful Early Years team from September. This is a full-time role within a supportive and inclusive school that places children’s wellbeing, development, and achievement at the heart of everything it does. The school is committed to providing an inspiring start to education, ensuring that every child develops confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning within a safe and stimulating environment. About the Role You will take responsibility for a Reception class, delivering a creative and engaging EYFS curriculum that supports children’s academic, social, emotional, and physical development. Working within a play-based and child-centred framework, you will create exciting learning opportunities that foster communication, language development, early literacy, numeracy, and personal growth. You will play a key role in helping children settle into school life, establish positive learning habits, and build the foundations for future success throughout their primary education. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues, and parents to ensure every child receives the support and challenge they need to thrive. Key Responsibilities Teach a Reception class within the EYFS framework Plan and deliver engaging, child-centred learning experiences Support children's development across all areas of learning Promote early reading, writing, communication, and mathematical skills Monitor progress through observation and assessment Maintain accurate records and contribute to reporting procedures Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues The School Environment This Community Primary School in Hammersmith offers a warm and inclusive environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and resilience.
