Cleveland Clinic London are looking to recruit a Therapy Assistant to join our Therapies Team with a competitive hourly rate on offer.

This role will report directly to an appropriate member of the senior therapy team and will be under the responsibility of the Rehabilitation Services Manager. This role will be passionate about rehabilitation and orthopaedics for Inpatients and be motivated to deliver safe effective and patient centered care supporting the wider high quality evidenced based therapy team. The post holder will follow an allocated work plan to support patients to achieve tailored rehabilitation goals.

What will your duties include

  • Work with senior therapy Caregivers in the day to day delivery of rehabilitation management for hospitalised patients with physical cognitive communicative and emotional impairments maximising independence and quality of life.
  • Provide education and mobility training including mobility aids and stair assessments following training
  • Support patients to carry out bespoke exercise programmes as part of their daily routine under the guidance of senior Caregivers e.g. for upper limb mobility speech or language exercises or postoperatively
  • Be responsible for completing the treatment plans identified by senior Caregivers following training and competency achievement in the appropriate assessment and treatment tools.
  • Work flexibly and dynamically with all Caregivers in the safe and effective delivery of rehabilitation.

What we need from you

  • Recent relevant experience within a hospital setting within Orthopaedics or Rehabilitation Essential
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. essential
  • Effective verbal telephone and written communication skills in English. essential
  • Compliance with all infection control and personal protective equipment policies and procedures at all times. - essential
  • Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team with a variety of professionals - desirable.
  • A basic understanding of Occupational Therapy Physiotherapy Speech and Language Therapy and Nursing and the role of a Therapy Assistant. - desirable
