Attendance Officer
A thriving Secondary School in Barnet is seeking a dedicated and proactive Attendance Officer to join its pastoral support team on a full-time permanent basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and student-focused individual who understands the importance of attendance in securing positive educational outcomes. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting excellent attendance and punctuality across the school while supporting students and families to overcome barriers to learning.
The Attendance Officer will be responsible for monitoring daily attendance maintaining accurate attendance records and ensuring that school attendance procedures are implemented consistently and effectively. You will work closely with students parents pastoral leaders and external agencies to improve attendance and support student engagement.
Key responsibilities will include conducting first-day absence calls investigating unexplained absences analysing attendance data preparing attendance reports and supporting intervention strategies for students with attendance concerns.
You will communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding attendance matters and help coordinate meetings and action plans designed to improve student attendance and punctuality.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills excellent communication abilities and the confidence to manage sensitive conversations professionally. A commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing is essential.

Requirements
Previous attendance pastoral or administrative experience desirable
