An independent school in Birmingham is seeking to appoint a dedicated French Teacher to join its Modern Foreign Languages department from September. This full-time role offers the chance to teach within an academically ambitious environment where languages are highly valued.
About the Role You will teach French across KS3 KS4 and KS5 using a communicative approach that develops fluency accuracy and cultural awareness. The department encourages immersive teaching with opportunities for trips and exchanges where appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
Teach French across KS3 KS4 and KS5
Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level French examinations
Develop students speaking listening reading and writing skills through varied activities
Use target-language teaching to build confidence and fluency
Track student progress and provide detailed constructive feedback
Contribute to language enrichment events trips or exchange programmes

Candidate Requirements
Essential
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Fluency in French and confidence teaching in the target language
Experience teaching French at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge across KS3 and KS4
Desirable
Experience teaching A-Level French
Ability to teach a second language (e.g. Spanish or German)
Experience organising language trips or exchanges
Experience working in an independent school setting
