Contract: Full-time or Part-time Permanent

Salary: Paid to scale (MPS/UPS) pro-rata if part-time

A vibrant multicultural 11-18 academy in Leicester is looking for a creative and committed Drama Teacher to join its Performing Arts faculty. The school is open to applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time hours and welcomes teachers who want to use drama as a tool for building confidence and community within a richly diverse student population.

You will teach Drama across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE) with a focus on devising work that reflects and celebrates the cultural diversity of the schools community. There will be opportunities to run an after-school drama club and to contribute to the schools annual show working alongside colleagues in Music and Art on whole-school events. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining accurate records of student progress ensuring safe practice in the drama studio and supporting students preparing for performance-based assessments.

Requirements

  • Degree in Drama Theatre Studies or a related field and QTS

  • Experience teaching GCSE Drama and directing youth productions

  • Enthusiasm for inclusive performing arts practice that reflects students diverse backgrounds

  • Strong classroom and studio management skills

  • A flexible team-oriented approach whether working full-time or part-time
