An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Adaptations Team Leader in the Staying Independent at Home Team working with adults and children with physical and mental health impairments which impact on their ability to access essential facilities in their home . The team supports with the processing of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and working closely with our lead provider to design suitable adaptations for citizens that are eligible.
An Adaptations Team leader within Birmingham City Council involves: a lead role in delivering adaptations to citizens of Birmingham and managing a complex caseload. This role will often involve providing technical expertise coaching and mentoring other members of the team as well as ensuring adherence to legislation standards and departmental policies.
Key responsibilities will include the below:
Provide high quality support and advice to internal/external customers whilst providing expertise on the service processes ensuring all cases within the service are appropriately completed and progressed in a timely manner.
To support the Multi-Disciplinary Team Manager Adaptations Contract Manager and Senior Practitioner in the development of the adaptation service and its processes by proactively driving forward the change agenda and streamlining processes with a high focus on excellent customer service.
To provide day to day management of Staff within the service ensuring they are supported developed and deployed to meet the demands of the business including completion of regular supervision and other relevant management processes.
Working closely with third party organisations and our lead provider to ensure adaptations are completed in line with Birmingham City Councils statutory duties.
